On a glorious sunny Saturday afternoon. me and my family were so bored, it would be a nice day to eat something that would cool us down but unfortunately we ran out of ice cream! I was about to suggest going to the beach but we would for sure be sunburned even if we apply sunscreen. We decided to go to the park that was near our house. We grabbed our sports equipment(badminton racket and the shuttlecock) and headed to the park. As we set up our net I decided to play with the monkey bars because I was bored. As our parents finished setting up me and my little sister decided to play badminton. As we started to play, it started winding like what!! Anyways as the wind went away we started to play more.

 

Eventually we got tired and decided to rest for a bit. We decided to play on the monkey bars since there was no one on it. My parents came out with some food so of course I got to go and eat it although I wasn’t really hungry. We ate some flat bread and homemade gravy on the side which was very good. After that we had some rest and we decided to play volleyball because we had a net. Our neighbours came to the park which I was so glad because I was so bored. As we were playing, an incident happened, as I was running for the ball I fell but it didn’t really hurt because we were laughing about it. I didn’t really expect that fall but it was quite funny but embarrassing since there were so many cars passing by. We were playing for a while but then we stopped and decided to play badminton instead. 

 

Instead of playing badminton we just started talking since there were loads of things to talk about. Eventually we decided to play in the neighborhood. Since it was like 8:00 we decided to just hang around and talk. K-pop auditions are about what k pop companies are going to hold their international online auditions. To be honest I honestly just started to zone out and pretend I was listening to their whole entire conversation. 

 

After sunset was almost finished we had to go back inside since it was almost night time. Out of all the things I do I really enjoyed spending quality time with my friends and family. This day was such a blast I hope we can do this again.

✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧Writing-Athletics Day✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧

Last Friday our school held our annual Athletics Day on the school field. As expected the sun was going to be very very brutal on us. As soon as we arrived at Te Kaupa we sat in our gender and year group. Let me say it was very very chaotic and very sunny. As we started our Athletics we went down to the bottom field and went to go play Dicus. I went to the non competitive because I am never that competitive. Honestly it was actually fun and I got quite a good distance. For our next activity we played scatter ball which was held by Miss Timmi. This is one of the funnest games I ever played because all you got to do is throw the balls and run until all the balls are back into one hoop. Anyways once we finished that activity we played Tug of War and this skipping rope which is something that I am actually good at(not tug of war the skipping rope) My favourite activity was Scatter Ball and once the morning activities were finished we went and had our morning tea

 

After we finished playing we had our second rotation. We did shot put and it was kinda fun but boring because we just did one throw then we just watched the competitive side. After that we played volleyball which I wasn’t really good at anyways I should tell you what I like. I really enjoy doing the 100 meters sprint. I got into the finals but I was competing with the sporty kids so of course I would lose which I did but that was our last activity.

 

After all it was a really fun day and I enjoyed hanging out with my friends. It was such a memorable day and this is going to be my second to last Athletic day. I felt very hot because of the sun anyways it was such a good day and I enjoy watching the relays.

✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧Myanmar Performance✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧

Hello Everyone today I am writing a summary about what happened last week. Last week was Myanmar Language Week for our school. Since we had loads of people from Myanmar/Burma we decided to celebrate the culture. On Friday the 15 of August the Junior and Senior has been practicing a performance for the school to enjoy.

In the Junior it was my little sister, Aroha, Arii, Evie-Grace, Soi Ha, Ngu War Aye, Aye Myat, Aung, Habib, Sa Hai, Tamaimon, Mey-Lee, Aimee-Lee and Zumaidah. Their dance was nice and simple which was kinda taught last minute but at least they remember the dance.

In the senior which I was part of and taught by my friend Zohaidah, she was supposed to dance this for the Myanmar New Year but since the earthquake happened it didn’t happen. In dance we had, Zohaidah and YiYi, Nu Nu and Shwe Shwe, Kyaosi and Nadi and finally me and Aie Sorn. We learn this dance in term 2 yea I know this dance we had to do was a traditional one so some of the moves were difficult.

✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧KPMG Trip✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧

Hello Everyone today a group of kids and the Year 7&8 extension kids got to go on a trip to KPMG(Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler) to learn about things that you would notice in adulthood!!! We went on a bus and yea let’s just say it was very chaotic. Anyways the drive was very long, as we arrived we walked into a very exciting room. We sat down on the couch or the seats. Justine, Jane, Amy and Shaz the staff of KPMG introduced themselves. We had our morning tea which was prepared by this wonderful chef named James. THE MORNING TEA WAS DELICIOUS. And I agreed with Zohaidah HE NEEDS A RAISE. Anyways after we finished eating we went on an office tour. It was very fun I went with Kay Soi, Maraea, Emzjull, Catherine, Winter, Sebastian, Sebastian’s dad and Shaz.

 

We had a special guest coming over it was supposed to be a surprise but we guess who it was. It was a 22 year old man named Dylan, Shaz’s son. Dylan had prepared some fun activities for us to get heaped up, before we got our first challenge we had to introduce ourselves to him we have to say our name and a fun fact about ourselves but if we didn’t know we had to say what our favourite animal is. If you didn’t know I actually found out loads of people likes monkeys but I actually like Red Panda.

 

Our first challenge was constructing a building with marshmallows, skewers, ice blocks sticks, and paper towels. I teamed up with Maraea, Kay Soi, Dallas and Kura and it was very chaotic. Dallas wanted to eat the marshmallows and we tried so hard not to let him eat it.  Anyways we constructed it and unfortunately we didn’t win the prize but I enjoy working with them, I thought we made a good team.

 

Our second challenge was making things out of Legos but we had a theme where we received Treehouse town. Believe me there weren’t enough base and green things. So we lost anyways my highlight of the day was the amazing food because it was so good. I hope you enjoy your day.

✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧Kawaii School Time NEEDS SOME MORE FANS✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧

Hello Everyone this is not really school related but I do need some favors to ask you all. YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS ANIME CALLED *Kawaii School Time* it’s so AMAZING I LOVE THE CHARACTERS. Although KST needs some more fans the owners of KST Pai is hosting a monthly art contest. Pai would love the fans and she would love some more fans that enjoy watching the anime or competing in the art contest. If you guys are interested in signing up Pai would most likely create a form for all people who want to sign up and she hosts a ranking so we can go on a call and we all rate it together!!! There are SO MANY CHARACTERS that are coming up but currently they have 47 characters.

 

So guys I am trusting you to watch this anime, their animation is PEAKKKKK. The KST community would love your love and support🫶 So yes watch it they would love more fans and some art contest things. I HOPE YOU GUYS WATCH THIS ANIME!!! NEED MORE FANS. The KST cast haven’t been posting that much because they have been very busy making new characters and trying to create the plots and making the animation!!

✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧Writing-Immersion Assembly✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧

Welcome back to Term 3 bloggers!!! This term our theme is “Positive Difference-He Rereketanga Pai” As usual, we kicked off our term with our school immersion assembly while we got ourselves settled, Mrs Nua and Mr Burt were giving out trays of pineapples and brownies on a toothpick. Each toothpick had a cute positive affirmation like “leave a kind footprint”

From all the team items I had seen I really love watching Team 2 because they recreated Inside Out. Inside Out is a movie about a girl named Riley and there are little characters(They are the main characters) called Joy, Anger, Disgust, Sadness and Fear. They controlled Riley’s emotions and memories and kept the memories tidy and safe. What I really liked about this movie was because we were actually watching some of the clips from the first Inside Out movie!!! 

This term, we are learning to make a positive difference in our community. Team 5 inquiry focus is “How can we use our voices and actions you make a difference in our community”

In the 2 week holidays me and my family went to YiYi and Shwe Shwe’s house because it was their birthday!!! I really enjoyed celebrating their birthday with them. What I really liked about celebrating their birthday was the game that we played. We had to find the ball with a nail polish mark and I got a prize for finding it, which was a bag of lollie!!

So there you have it readers. I’ve shared about my favourite team item I enjoyed watching, my 2 week holiday and Team 5 focus question for Term 3. I am not too excited to learn about Poetry because I just don’t like it. Poems are not my thing I just don’t like it how it just rhymes and you just like mess up. I just really hate that. BUT ANYWAYS ENOUGH My poems are about what my favourite place is but you don’t know what it is you just knew to figure it out. Welcome back to my blog, for today post it’s about writing, out topic that Room 5 literacy is currently focusing on is Nouns and Verbs. if you don’t know what Nouns or Verbs are or maybe even both you might wanna see something that is in there. My highlight was recording what nouns and verbs were and my lowlight was highlighting the nouns and verbs but I have to constantly do that and it actually made my hands tired. ✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧2024 Highlights✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧

Term1 Highlights: It was the first day of school. I have a new class new teacher that I barely knew it’s pretty chaotic, I just couldn’t wait to see who was in my class. When I step into Team 5 I saw 4 different teachers that I never had but I saw one that was in Team 4 that I had before Mrs Lagitupu. When they called out the names I was in Room 2 with Mrs Ilaoa. Term 1 was pretty cool with fun things. My favourite event in Term 1 has to be Myanmar Language Week. I did a speech in English relieving my family and then we did a performance for the school.

 

Term 2: Transformer OMG. New theme I never seen this theme before so I was quite curious about it. I learn about lots of new things. Our DLO was about creating a play with a group that we got assigned to. Then the Year 8s had to go off to camp with helpers and Mr Wiseman and Mr Moran. The Year 7s had to do the Step It up prommange which is actually quite fun. I enjoy hanging out with my friend. Year 7 had to step up so there were  Supersubs for the backup prefects and Oh my gosh were they good you are asking,OF COURSE THEY ARE they were amazing.

 

Term 3: Karawhina Give it Heaps!!! New theme I have never seen. This theme is all about Health&Pe. The Inquiry Team 5 had to do is learning a new skill and documenting it. We edited on dfferent editing site but I used Imovie it’s just easier. My highlight of Term 3 was the Inquiry I enjoyed it, I chose Juggling as my skill but sadly I didn’t learn how to juggle.

 

Term 4: This theme is May the Force be with you. We had to learn all about sound and vibrations. I went into pairs with Maria. We were supposed to present it in class but out teacher Mrs Ilaoa said that we could record it and send it to her. My highlight of the year was PRIZEGIVING!! Prizegiving is so much fun. Here is what you do in Prizegiving is about not only getting awards but showing love to your family and friends that you love the most. You received awards and d0 performance for your family and school. It goes from Room 9&10, Room 6&7&8, Year 7 and Year 8. Mr Burt(Pt England School’s lovely principal) announced who got the leadership roles and I was panicking because I applied and I didn’t know if I would get it.  He announced the final female prefect and I got it I was so happy and proud for myself. I didn’t want to feel emotional because sometimes whenever I got something I sometime get emotional I just look dumb. After the Year 8s do their item we do a closing prayer, if you didn’t know Pt England School has a School song written by Max Jacobsen(Mr Jacobsen/J’s brother) we sing them it our family. Of course at the end of school we all get emotional whenever you make friends that are going to leave for college next year you gotta hug them.

 

And that’s a wrap of my highlights of 2024. I can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring us
