Welcome back to Term 3 bloggers!!! This term our theme is “Positive Difference-He Rereketanga Pai” As usual, we kicked off our term with our school immersion assembly while we got ourselves settled, Mrs Nua and Mr Burt were giving out trays of pineapples and brownies on a toothpick. Each toothpick had a cute positive affirmation like “leave a kind footprint”

From all the team items I had seen I really love watching Team 2 because they recreated Inside Out. Inside Out is a movie about a girl named Riley and there are little characters(They are the main characters) called Joy, Anger, Disgust, Sadness and Fear. They controlled Riley’s emotions and memories and kept the memories tidy and safe. What I really liked about this movie was because we were actually watching some of the clips from the first Inside Out movie!!! 

This term, we are learning to make a positive difference in our community. Team 5 inquiry focus is “How can we use our voices and actions you make a difference in our community”

In the 2 week holidays me and my family went to YiYi and Shwe Shwe’s house because it was their birthday!!! I really enjoyed celebrating their birthday with them. What I really liked about celebrating their birthday was the game that we played. We had to find the ball with a nail polish mark and I got a prize for finding it, which was a bag of lollie!!

So there you have it readers. I’ve shared about my favourite team item I enjoyed watching, my 2 week holiday and Team 5 focus question for Term 3. ✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧Immersion Assembly Term 2✧･ﾟ:* *:･ﾟ✧

This Morning on Monday the 28th of April the start of term 2. We have our annual immersion that happens each term, our focus that we are going to study is”Beyond the Sky” What does Beyond the Sky mean you may be asking, we are studying our solar system/planets!!! I haven’t learned a lot about the Solar System so I am pretty excited to learn about it I HAVE BASICALLY BEEN WAITING FOR TOPIC FOR A LONG TIMEE!!

First we watched the Senior Management team Immersion movie which is our principal and 3 other deputy principals filmed a video of them travelling around New Zealand. Team 1 was learning about the time and different zones. Team 2 is about learning their solar system in a magical school bus. Team 3 teachers did a RAP, THAT IS INSANE they rapped about the sun,moon and the earth. Next was Team 4 their movie was about “Little Einstein” Which is a show for little kids. The best for last was TEAM 5, Mr Wiseman wrote a song called Looovee for the sun. It is basically the song Love written by Keyshia Cole but the solar system version which was very creative I LOVE IT.

After all I had to choose what I really enjoyed watching. My favourite one was OF COURSE TEAM 5!!! The reason why Team 5’s song was my favourite is because I LOVE THE SONG LOVE. It’s a very unique song that Mr Wiseman  has created.

 

Writing:Immersion Assembly T4

Our Pt England Way is always kick start the term with an immersion assembly. Today was no different. Our management team started us off by trading our theme May the Force be with you Kia Kaha Te Kaha a koe, which is all about sound and vibration  There were 6 different movies which were acted by the teachers of each team(Senior Mangement, Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4 and finally Team 5).

 

Immersion Assembly: Team 5 created a movie all about sounds and music waves. Each of the teachers picked an object to hear with the sound like using rubber bands and a guitar. Mrs Lagitupu and Mr Moran use the rubber to hear the vibration and sound of the rubber bands. They decided to flick it onto Mr Wiseman and Mr Moran’s skin. Mr Wiseman uses the guitar to hear the sounds. They learn about how the sound goes through our ear and feeling the vibrations. Team 5 focuses to learn to play an instrument and see how to sound and vibrations to see how it goes through your ear.

 

Holiday Highlight- On the holidays me, my mum and my sister went to the Hoyts Cinema at Sylvia Park and watched the Wild Robot. We watched the movie at 1:10 pm. We watched the movie on the big screen. It was my first time watching a movie in the cinema. It was a good movie but sad. My favourite part was when the robot named Ros was trying to teach the duck how to fly.

 

Goals- My goal for this term is to apply for a leadership role for next year!!

Karawhiua! Give it heaps!

Hello Everyone!! Today all of the Pt England students are coming back to school for Term 3!!! Our theme for this term is Karawhiua, Give it heaps.

Immersion Assembly

We started off by our immersion assembly but different. All of the class had to watch it online!! Each team had to create a movie for the Immersion Assembly. Team 5’s movie was about Mr Wiseman trying to set a goal. His goal was trying to jiggle. It took him 12 days to try and jiggle. He learned that it’s not as easy as it looks but eventually he will get there. He said that he was trying to be the Sigma Rizzler.

 

Holidays

During the holidays me and my family went to Sylvia Park. We went around H&M to buy some clothes and high knee socks. I bought a black high knee socks for school. My highlight from the shopping spree was eating my favourite place Biang Biang Noodles which is a Chinese place. They make the longest noodles in the world. Me and my little sister shared a bowl of beef noodles because the bowl was huge, which was crazy good. My lowlight was when we got home I felt very tired because we were walking so much that I almost went straight to sleep.

Goals

My learning goal for the term is to try and improve my reading and try to look back into the text and try to scan for the keywords. My other goal is trying to pray off hard without repeating after my mum and to read the trepetalk(Buddhist Books)

Tranformers

Our Pt England Way is always kick start the term with an immersion assembly. Today was no different. Our management team started us off by trading our theme Transformer, which is all about drama! There were 6 different performances which were performed by the teachers of each team.

Team 3 decided to recreate their mini Matilda. Mrs Moala was very angry because someone went through her fridge and ate her chocolate cake. When Mrs Moala found out who ate her private chocolate cake Bobby John did a loud as burp so Mrs Moala found out it was BOBBY JOHN!!!!!!!! When Bobby John got exposed Mrs Moala gave him another cake that was big,but not so big. Bobby John started eating the chocolate cake and the other students started to dance and sing. My favourite part of the Matilda play was Bobby John grab some cake and slapping it onto Mrs Moala’s face. Her reaction was the best part which made me giggle. I was surprised that they put on an amazing play for us which was my favourite performance out of the 6 performances.

Task Description: Today it was the first day of term 2. The theme for term 2 is called Transformers. In team 5 we are doing some plays for our DLO. Our Immersion Assembly starts with the SMT which stands for Senior Management Team, Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4 and finally Team 5. I like 2 plays which are Team 5(my team) and Team 3. It  was a very hard decision to pick but I had to choose Team 3 because they performed a Matilda play. In the Matilda there was Ms Trumpbell(Mrs Moala) Bruce Bogtrotter(Bobby-John) Students were Mrs Nelson, Mrs Walker, Ms Gomez and Ms Scanlan and a substitute but I don’t really know her name.
