Reading: Storm on the Way

Task Description: Hello Everyone!!!! Today I just finished reading last week. From last week Spider-Man and Thor had to read a text called “The Storm on the way” My literacy teacher Miss Tipene said that we had to create a Google slides and record a video which is reading a the text/passage and answering the questions. I kinda got too carry away by decorating the slides but hey all it all matters is that I completed it. My highlight was of course decorating the slides and my lowlight was trying to answer the questions because you got to scan keywords for the answer then write your answer down it’s just too chaotic. Mana Ako: Reflection about what I learn

Hello Everyone!! Today I am going to be telling you about what I had learned about Labour day at Mana Ako. We learned about Labour Day. We watched a short video about how labour was invented. What I have found out about Labour was that Samuel Parnell was born in England. In 1840 he travelled on a boat with his wife. When he arrived to New Zealand he didn’t like how long hours that people had to work. So he tried to debate and told Jackson Hunter(the person he was debating) that there should be 8 hours of work. Jackson was not the only person that hated the word. Everyone wanted to work long hours. In 1890 he passed away from illness a few weeks after the debate. Everyone respects his debate. Writing: Punctuation Activity

Task Description: Hello Everyone!!! For today and tommorow we are sorting out the punctuation in each sentence like “You need to put capital letters and full stops in these sentences, you can add speech mark if you need it.” My highlight from doing that was reading the story because I just like the story and my lowlight is adding the punctuation because you need to place it like where it is and it’s just chaotic but I actually enjoyed. 2 weeks of exciting adventures!!!

Intro: During the holiday, me and my family went to go many places for the holidays like going to birthdays, going for a picnic and watching a movie

Statement 1:On the first week of the holiday me and my family went to the beach for a picnic with me and my friends. We got our mat out and food and went to our area where we usually have. Me and my sister got bored so we decided to play badminton(I’m really good at badminton) We set our net up and started to play.

Statement 2: On the second week me, my mum and my sister went to the Hoyts Cinema at Sylvia Park and watched the Wild Robot. We watched the movie at 1:10 pm. We watched the movie on the big screen. It was my first time watching a movie in the cinema. It was a good movie but sad. My favourite part was when the robot named Ros was trying to teach the duck how to fly.

Statement 3: On the last Sunday of the holiday. Me and my family went over to one of our family friend’s house because it was his birthday. He turned 7 years old. We played a memory game for a prize. After we finished the game we started to create a candy salad and record the video. The birthday boy called us and said “It’s time to eat cake!!!” It was a really nice cake. After we finished our cake we played. My mum called me and said we we’re going to home

Conclusion: My favourite day of the 2 week holiday was watching the movie at Hoyts because I had never been to the cinema before so it was actually a great experience for me, my sister and my mum. My highlight was watching the movie and eating popcorn. My lowlight was how long the movie was I thought it was going to take 1 hour and 2 minutes but it took 1 hour and 42 minutes.

Writing:Immersion Assembly T4

Our Pt England Way is always kick start the term with an immersion assembly. Today was no different. Our management team started us off by trading our theme May the Force be with you Kia Kaha Te Kaha a koe, which is all about sound and vibration  There were 6 different movies which were acted by the teachers of each team(Senior Mangement, Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4 and finally Team 5).

 

Immersion Assembly: Team 5 created a movie all about sounds and music waves. Each of the teachers picked an object to hear with the sound like using rubber bands and a guitar. Mrs Lagitupu and Mr Moran use the rubber to hear the vibration and sound of the rubber bands. They decided to flick it onto Mr Wiseman and Mr Moran’s skin. Mr Wiseman uses the guitar to hear the sounds. They learn about how the sound goes through our ear and feeling the vibrations. Team 5 focuses to learn to play an instrument and see how to sound and vibrations to see how it goes through your ear.

Spring Learning Journey: Design your own spring Garden

 Task Description: For the Spring Learning Journey, I completed Activity 6, which was all about designing my own spring garden. Since spring is my favorite season, I had a lot of fun bringing my ideas to life. I created a scene with a vibrant apple tree, complete with ripe fruit, and a beautiful cherry blossom tree that’s still in the process of growing. To make the space feel inviting and ready for enjoyment, I also added a cozy mat for a picnic. This project was a great way to capture the feeling of spring and all the new growth it brings. I hope you enjoy the garden I created!
